Description

DeckWise Deck & Wood Brightener (Part 2) is a powerful powder concentrate mixed 4:1 with water to brighten and restore the all-natural beauty of exterior hardwood decking and other outdoor wood surfaces. It's an important, highly recommended step for achieving a beautiful wood finish. Apply it to your hardwood deck or other wood surface prior to applying a high-quality wood oil finish (such as DeckWise Ipe Oil or Ipe Oil Plus) to help bring out the true beauty of the wood's natural color. Brightener takes away tannin stains from hardwoods, which are vulnerable to extractive bleeding as well as stripping dirt, rust, grime, and fungi stains from solid wood surfaces. Woods such as cedar and redwood fall into that classification. Tannins tend to be naturally occurring in many woods and show up as a dark discoloration once the lumber has been subjected to moisture. Properly preparing wood before staining is a key part in extending the life of wood.

Many hardwood cleaners can increase the pH balance of lumber, generating a neutralizing acid. Be sure to apply Brightener after DeckWise Cleaner (Part 1) application to stop the caustic of the wood cleaner, which will leave the deck/lumber in a neutral state.
